KS2.Y4.G.PS – Geometry - properties of shapes
Pupils should be taught to:
KS1.Y4.G.PS.1 – Compare and classify geometric shapes, including quadrilaterals and triangles, based on their properties and sizes
Samples: Combining or splitting 2D shapes. Attributes of two dimensional shapes.
KS2.Y6.G.PS – Geometry - properties of shapes
KS2.Y6.G.PS.3 – Compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and sizes and find unknown angles in any triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons
Samples: Naming prisms and pyramids. Angles on a Triangle. Angles in Quadrilaterals. Angles of Polygons. Prisms and pyramids.
ACMMG111 – Connect three-dimensional objects with their nets and other two-dimensional representations
Samples: Identifying corners on 3D objects. Naming prisms and pyramids. The net of a cylinder. Drawing 3D Objects - cylinder.
ACMMG140 – Construct simple prisms and pyramids
Samples: Drawing 3D Objects - cylinder. Naming prisms and pyramids. Addition, and space 3D.
6.GM.3 – Sort two- and three-dimensional shapes (including prisms), considering given properties simultaneously and justifying the decisions made
Samples: Measure and name angles. Identifying angles at intersecting lines. Constructing 2D shapes.
7.GM.4 – Sort two- and three-dimensional shapes into classes, defining properties and justifying the decisions made
Samples: Angles on a Straight Line. Identifying angles at intersecting lines. Parts of a circle.
7.GM.6 – Create or identify nets for rectangular prisms and other simple solids
Samples: The net of a cylinder. Drawing 3D Objects - cylinder. Naming prisms and pyramids. The net of a cylinder.

This activity requires an account to enable as it customises it questions to individual students
You can join Studyladder FREE!
Your account will have additional material that tracks students progress to provide individual focused material and reports. Also it includes fun incentives to encourage students to learn more all customised to each students needs.
Coming soon to Studyladder is a new system for saving, sharing and sorting your favourite and most used materials for easier access.
We envisage the favourite system as a way to collect and organise Studyladder content, whether a single activity, or entire sections.
Your favourites will be accessible from anywhere on the website, via a handy toolbar on the header. And adding something can be as simple as "starring" the object you want to save.
For those power users with multiple classes and content needs, we plan to allow you to organise and sort the favourite system to best suit your needs.
